I want to express my extreme gratitute to everyone that assisted me in the Great Papisan Swing Hunt on Monday.
As many of you know, Hayden has been an exceptionally fussy young man. Of course, the Doctor wants to say it's colic . . . well colic or not, when an infant screams for 8-10 hours a day it's enough to drive everyone around him insane. My mother had the nerve to tell me that "Babies are going to cry" . . . then she came to visit and after about 3 hours she changed her tune to "Something is wrong with this baby!"
So on Monday, I went to visit Amanda, Davis and Marleigh down the street. Marleigh is Hayden's girlfriend. She was born 2 days before Hayden. Anyway, Hayden gets fussy (not a surprise) and I evict Marleigh from her swing to see if it will soothe him. We have a swing that goes front to back (because it matched my pattern, big mistake!) and Marleigh's swing is one of those that goes side to side. Well, as soon as that swing started up, Hayden was completely content. I kid you not, he sat in that swing for an hour! It is honestly the first time I've seen him quiet and awake at the same time.
So, I begin the hunt for one of these swings. After many calls and no luck I've decided I have two choices 1. Break into Tim and Amanda's house and steal their swing in the middle of the night or 2. Break down and buy this swing.
So, later that day Hayden gets super fussy and I want to show my husband (who does not believe the transformation the swing creates) how wonderful it works so I can justify buying another swing . . . off we go to evict Marleigh from her swing for the second time that day. Of course the swing soothes Hayden and now Giff is a believer too so, we're talking about going to Wal-Mart and a friend of Amanda's who just happens to be over there says, "Oh, I have the exact same swing. You can borrow it if you want to." . . . the Lord works, people!!!
So, Giff is saying "Oh, give us your number and we'll set up a time to come pick it up later this week". And Jessica, who listens to the screaming all day long, informs both Giff and the friend that we are going to be stalkers and follow her home that night. So, we are now the happy borrowers of this wonderful swing and Hayden LOVES it!!!
Thank you so much Preston Family for letting us borrow your swing!!

I swore by the same swing. Emily was one with the papasan swing. I didn't care how many batteries we went through in the process.
Yea!!! So glad Hayden got his swing!!!
