WARNING: LONG BLOG AHEAD

Last week we went to Florida for Giff's paternal grandmother's funeral. It was a beautiful service and many great things were said about her . . . all true! She was a wonderful, God fearing woman and I hope one day people will think as highly of me. She was a true blessing to her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

While we were in Florida we got Hayden's 1st Hair Cut! His cousin Susan was able to give him the needed trim. Susan is more like a 2nd or 3rd cousin to Hayden . . . I'm not really sure how the geneology thing works. Susan's mother is actually Giff's dad's 1st cousin . . . so what does that make them? 3rd cousins once removed? I don't know how you remove people but, I'd sure like to find out! I have a few I'd like to remove = )

Anywho . . . Hayden sat up in the chair like a big boy and let her cut away. He did turn his head a lot as he was trying to see what she was doing but he did not cry or fuss at all. We thought for sure he'd need to sit in Giff's lap but, he was happy as a clam in the booster seat. He looks like such a big boy and now I have hair to put in his scrapbook. Thanks Susan!

We had a nice trip and as always had a great time staying with Nana and Pepa. Pepa is injured (broke his ankle) so, he was not able to get on the floor and play quite as much but he still insisted that he could "walk" around the yard with Hayden in his stroller while Jessica went shopping . . . they must have made out pretty good . . . they were both in one piece when I got back = )

Giff and I were able to have a much needed double date night with Mark and Hannah while Nana and Pepa kept HG. We don't get out much when we are in Atl. Not too many babysitters up here for us. But we had a nice evening out . . . Mark and Hannah (and Shelby) are about to welcome baby brother Cooper Dietrich Brock in a few weeks. . . maybe he'll be born on Hayden's 1st birthday (which is coming up on February 8th)!

Giff's cousin Grant wanted to be blogged about so . . . We were so blessed to be able to see Grant while we were down in Graceville! He is by far the most amazing cousin Giff has and it was an honor to be in his presence. We do need to discuss a funny about ole Grant. He has recently moved to Buckhead from Florida with work. And his new co-workers gave him a puppy for Christmas, a Springer Spanial named Parker. So Grant lives on the 18th floor of a high rise. . . not too convenient for multiple puppy potty trips each day . . . so Grant has a company (named Uptown Hound, hilarious) that provides the "Penthouse Potty". This is a box with 3 squares of sod and a fire hydrant in it and it stays out on the balcony/porch area. Once a week they come in and replace the sod with fresh. How metro is this???? I think it is hilarous but at the same time I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this one myself. OK, enough about Grant . . .

Hayden and I are getting use to being home together . . . we each have our off days but, we're working into a nice little routine. I think he is totally bored with just me and he lights up when Daddy comes home or we go somewhere. I can just see his mind thinking, Finally some new faces! Tomorrow he is going to Ms. Susan's for the day so I can get some much needed packing done. We're trying to have the house on the marked by February 9th and we have got to pack up all of our "junk" and make the house as "impersonal" and clutter-free as possible.

We're also having our roof replaced tomorrow and Friday from the hail storm last March so Hayden would have been freaking out anyway with all that noise so he'll enjoy being with Ms. Susan and the other boys.

OK, I'll shut up now . . . here are some pictures:

Chillin' with Aunt Steph
Here are some haircut pictures . . . you can't really tell a whole lot but it looks so much better. . . . I just think his face is priceless and he's so cute with the little smock on . . .
